Ten Years: Here’s To The Future

October 23, 2017

Greetings, Citizens of the Universe!

It is that time of year again where I reflect on M3’s past, present, and future. Today is a special one, this year marking 10 since the establishment of Morning Meteora as a concept.

Last Quarter Phase of 2016

Greetings, Citizens of the Universe!

Another quarter down, another one to go. I hope to get the blog updating as usual as I’m a little in the middle of a project. I’ll let you know when I can give more details. Therefore, if the blog is slow to update, I humbly apologize.

And now I have a very special announcement for you all…

Spring Daze

April 21, 2016

Greetings, Citizens of the Universe!

Had a good one? As you may or may not know, I spent the last few weeks on “vacation,” or “spring break” as it were. Well, the main purpose of this is to let myself a break from talking so I can focus on my main gig, which it is being an artist. Plus, it is also to allow myself a decent break as to provide you a quality posts.

Why? Because I am a person with very high standards, and let’s face it: the past few posts weren’t exactly up to snuff.

M³ Cake Day 2015

October 23, 2015

Greetings, Citizens of the Universe!

M3CakeDay2015_previewB

It’s that time of the year again, where I reflect on the musings of yore. It’s been a long and winding road since the previous anniversary and even the blog’s humble beginnings and arrival. Let’s start at the beginning, shall we? Read the rest of this entry »

Magi-Kake Day 2015

March 27, 2015

This post is going to be a bit personal for me: in addition to being the (sixth) anniversary of the WordPress blog, the 18th was my tenth Cake Day as a netizen. (You can tell I’m a younggun and a bit of a nerd as I still care about such things.)

L’arc-en-ciel en rose

January 12, 2015

Warning: This post features a lot of YouTube videos which may make some browsers freeze and crash.

Usa-chan and Ryusa-chan - Peace!
A new year’s greetings to the Magical Meteorites, Earthlings, and other citizens of the universe!

To start 2015 off here at M3, we’re going to celebrate the birthday of one of my most beloved characters (Dragonbunny “DB” Cosmo-Rose a la mode—there’s a reason she has that name, trust me—from my upcoming webcomic LOVEBANG). To do so, I’m going to pay tribute to a song that pretty much sealed her fate, that shaped a good deal of the crafting of her character: Rainbow Pink. Read the rest of this entry »

Renai Hunter to Career Hunter: 11 Job Lessons from Idoldom

December 29, 2014

Seasons greetings, Magical Meteorites and other citizens of the universe.

As mentioned in a previous post, the blog has now become a full-fledged part of my job search/career development efforts (even if it has long been part of my personal brand). I was not the first person to do this as Serenyty (of Happy Disco) and NyNy (or NyNyOnline) have incorporated their blogs into their career development. As a result, the blog will be undergoing a much-needed makeover in the near future with new features and a sleek look.

It is hard to believe that idols can be thought of as something that can impact someone’s like this. We look to idols for inspiration and solace, making our lives a little brighter with their pop Noh theatrics.

However, what does all of this have to do with the hunt? How can following idols tie into it besides resume beefing? Read the rest of this entry »

Blog Notice: 12/2014

December 23, 2014

Greetings to all of the Magical Meteorites, Earthlings, and other citizens of the universe.

Time for something a little more serious.

I really don’t like to put this front and center, but in addition to my artistic pursuits, I’ve also been looking for work. For the past few weeks, I’ve been busting brain cells over how to follow Serenyty’s advice and incorporate the blog into my job search efforts. (I almost credited the wrong person as she too incorporated it into her career building. Barely helps that save for a “few” letters, their names are similar.)

Why did I get on the bandwagon? Well, allow me to get the painfully honest answer out of the way: Read the rest of this entry »

“What Basic Premises Inform Your Blog?” A 2014 Perspective

November 11, 2014

Years ago, Ray sent out a question to the blogging community: “What Basic Premises Inform Your Blog?

While you have can read the original version of my answer here, I thought that in the spirit of a revisited post before, I’d give this one a try. As usual, the old answers are in italics while the new answers in normal font.

M³ Cake Day 2014 – An Introspective

October 23, 2014

6-Month Cake Day

On Oct 23, 2007, I joined Vox. I was naive, scared, excited, and everything in-between. I was a mere high school girl who was barely into her Senior year, an Alice plunging headfirst down into a rabbit hole towards a kaleidoscopic Wonderland of snark, sleaze, and symbol-worship.

About two days later, I made my first post (which is probably lost to the digital abyss following Vox’s demise – in fact, there were times where I regretted choosing Vox instead of WordPress or somewhere like that). I was excited yet scared, holding my breath in anticipation for the moment I had hoped for. After calming myself down, I continued on my pursuit, emulating the bloggers that inspired me while trying to carve my own niche.

One month later, it happened: I was covered on International Wota. Due to the fact I was getting ready for school that day, I couldn’t screencap that moment. I probably spent that day in an afterglow of euphoria in the realization that my efforts had borne fruit. Little did I know what a predicament I was in afterwards, what became after the fact. I had only planned for being covered on IW. What came next?
