La petite vampir: A Septette for H!P’s Dead Princess

Looks like it’s going to be a fun night.

Greetings, Citizens of the Night Universe!

As we know, Tamura Meimi announced her graduation from ANGERME and H!P this past December. A few weeks later, we received a date and venue: May 30 at Budokan.

La petite vampir

Meimi intends to follow her dream of being a musical actress. Given that (like Riho) she had her H!P “start” in a musical (a Shugo Chara production), this seems a natural route for her. Her family has a history of being in the theatre, her mother working in a troupe, so I guess it’s all in the blood.

This doesn’t change the fact such an announcement is a shocker, especially coming so soon after Fukuda Kanon’s grad and close to Sayashi Riho’s. Meimi is an oshi to a great portion of the fandom.

(Believe it or not, she’s not my top ANGERME oshi. Of course, this has more to do with my lack of one since I like them all.)

This doesn’t change the fact that Meimi’s left her mark here. She (or rather the running fandom joke with her) is the inspiration for M3’s mascot, May-May the Idolpire.

Which leads me to the next part (which was at one point its own post):

Septette for H!P’s Dead Princess

One of the first M3-related projects announced this year via the Facebook Page was a showcase of Tamura Meimi fanart:

One other M3-related project for this year is the Tamura Meimi Fanart Showcase. This has been on my mind after seeing the myriad of fan tributes by H!P’s talented fanbase in response to Sayashi Riho’s graduation. As an artist myself, I understand the care and love that go into these pieces and wish to better their exposure. I also hope to use my position to increase awareness for these individuals, especially since some are emerging talent.
…Or am I flying too close to the Sun and this is doomed to drop into the drink?
If you wish to submit your piece:
  • Email Route: Send an email to asukki-chan@hotmail.com with the subject line “Tamura Meimi Fanart Showcase.”
  • Tumblr Route: Submit to the Public Box or the Public Dox on the M3 Tumblr.
  • Facebook Route: Message this page with your submission.
No matter what path you choose, be sure to include your name (real name, username/pseudonym, etc), home country, and a description for your piece. Nobody can better speak for your work than you so give that piece the support it needs!
I will be accepting submissions until May 22 @ 8 am Eastern US time at the latest.
At this point, there are now 10 weeks until the submission deadline.

While there is no M3 Mystery out now, the results of the first set of Powerpuff Musume ’16 Tiebreakers have been announced. The second set is also live so vote for your favorite (remaining) 10 Gen member and MV costume now! Poll closes next Wednesday!

Until the Next One!

Chuu!Sugoi!Idol have announced their tribute plan for Suzuki Kanon and Tamura Meimi a few weeks ago. A separate, unrelated Zukki tribute scrapbook has been announced as well, plus a Meimei scrapbook is being made by another fan. There are also the Suzuki Kanon fanart showcase hosted by this very blog.

Looks like it’s going to be a long night.
