Kanon: Ice Fairy of Compassion and Mercy

Greetings, Citizens of the Universe!

SuzukiKanonTsumetai_1

As we are painfully aware of, Suzuki Kanon announced her graduation last Sunday with the intention of going into welfare work. You can read my feelings regarding the matter on this Tumblr post, which I had intended to expand upon once I’m able to focus my thoughts better. Unfortunately, that will most likely be the only post regarding that.

I will add this though: While I screamed “S***” in my head, I wrote it on Skype. In capitals. That’s how shocked I was about the announcement — and as you can gather from the fact that I’ve been a fan for over a decade, I’ve seen my share of grads.

It’s rather befitting that Zukki is graduating for such an altruistic reason. However, the number 244 brought up an interesting point: the constant scrutiny on her weight. As I’ve told a friend, I never really paid that much attention to Kanon’s weight. Part of it comes from me being a generally kind person who sees people for their personalities. Another part of it comes from the fact that while I tend to be the Luigi to many of my friends’ Mario, I’m accustomed to seeing people on the big side.

This post, however, is about something in relation to that which was greenlit by you. (Rather, it was greenlit by H!P-loving Tweeps.)

If you wish to submit your piece:
  • Email Route: Send an email to asukki-chan@hotmail.com with the subject line “Suzuki Kanon Fanart Showcase.”
  • Tumblr Route: Submit to the Public Box or the Public Dox on the M3 Tumblr.
  • Facebook Route: Message the page with your submission.
No matter what path you choose, be sure to include your name (real name, username/pseudonym, etc), home country, and a description for your piece. Nobody can better speak for your work than you so give that piece the support it needs!
(Also, all rights to the work will belong to you. In fact, they belonged to you to moment you created that piece.)
I will be accepting submissions until May 22 @ 8 am Eastern US time at the latest.

The current M3 Mystery is your feelings regarding the announcement.

Until the Next One!
Magi-Kat

P.S. If Ikuta becomes the next Momusu member to graduate, we riot.
(Not really, but I seriously hope she’s not next.)

Remember to vote for your favorite Faith Girl Oshi and costume of yore!
Don’t also forget that submissions are being accepted for a similar tribute project for Tamura Meimi.

  9. […] Greetings and happy Valentine’s Day, Citizens of the Universe! Today is a special day here on M3 as it was 3 hours and 3 years ago that the blog was officially revived (holdover post that was later remade as the page it was intended to be notwithstanding). In the past, such occasions was lumped together with traditional Valentine’s Day festivities. In 2015, it was celebrated with the Chocolate Soul Disco miniseries, spotlighting Perfume, Matsuura Aya, and Kikkawa You. Unfortunately, the occasion wasn’t “marked” in 2016, most likely due to the fact that everyone (myself included) was reeling from Suzuki Kanon’s announcement a few weeks before. […]
