BMS: The Results Show – Act 0

Greetings, Citizens of the Universe!

Well, it was a long and winding road, but our Berryz have bid us farewell one month ago today. Some stayed (Saki, Momoko, Chinami, Maasa), others went (Miyabi, Yurina, Risako). Regardless, throughout these years, the Berryz have left a long and lasting impact upon our lives.

Which brings us to this. Created on August 4, 2014 (a day before the Sayumi-themed one) in response to the recent announcement and the outpouring of shock, disbelief, and grief, the Berryz Memorial Survey was first unveiled on Twitter on January 25, 2015.

There were some growing pains as some reported very stringent voting conditions in the form itself compared to the Sayumi survey (i.e. being forced to vote on multiple choices before advancing). Being that it was unveiled only days after the release of the boxset, the results were editable to begin with. Further promotion was done as postscripts on pretty much any post published after January 25.

On February 20, the survey was unveiled in a proper post on the blog. Due to the aforementioned problems, the post then became the center of the survey’s promotion as help was more reachable.

On March 10, a second shortlink was accidentally made. As of this writing, it only had gotten 5 clicks. This is compared to the 26 clicks the main shortlink had gotten, making a total of 31 clicks. (This is compared to the 19 total clicks the Sayumi survey obtained, 17 with the first and 2 with the second.)

The Sayumi Survey, despite the shortlinks getting 19 total clicks, received 33 responses. The Berryz Survey, despite the shortlinks getting 31 total clicks, only obtained 16 responses. This was the reverse of the previous survey. I’m inclined to believe it was a result of glitches with the survey. My apologies for what had happened and all of this is a learning experience for me. Thank you for your support, time, consideration, and understanding.

Regardless, the results analysis proper will begin next week on April 10 with The General Stuff. Just like with the Sayumi poll, further dissection will occur in the subsequent weeks. Are you prepared to relive the glory days of Berryz Koubou and take a trip down the penny-colored memory lane one more time? Are you prepared to take a look at the fandom (well, as depicted by the 16 people whose answers came through) before resigning to history?

Then call your friends and come on over to the blog starting next week. Buckle up for it’s going to be quite a ride.

Stay berry nice with a taste of honey!
