MSS: The Results Show – Act IV

Act IAct IIAct IIIAct IVAct V

Welcome to Act IV of the Michishige Sayumemorial Survey: The Results Show. Last week, we paid tribute to the immortal Takahashi-Niigaki Years. Now, we’re going to cover the space we’ve been waiting for: the Michishige Years!

We’ve finally come to this point, the most recent of eras and the reason we’re all here. It’s been a long and winding road from backseat moaner to the leading lady of Morning Musume, numbered and unnumbered. Well, let’s celebrate the good times one more time! Oh yeah, all right, start the dan… okay, let’s get started on the Michiganite Michishige Era!

Best Album

  1. 13 Colorful Character (26 votes – 79%)
  2. 14 Shou ~The message~ (3 votes – 9%)

What was considered the high point of this era (as far as one fan who answered was concerned) was the amount of thought put towards Sayu’s graduation, both the single and the concert. Another was the promotion, as exemplified by the Youtube exposure, the double A-sides, and the other promotional content.

The low point was the fact that in spite of the hype, Morning Musume’s performance, “even with the few stable voices.” The formation dances left little for the quirkiness the group was known for. It is in the responding fan’s opinion that the group had “gotten a little too dance-oriented and serious during concerts” with bland personalities on TV programs.

If there was anything that could be changed about this era, the sole response was for more personality (as it was felt the girls were trying to be proper and not holding back on themselves), easing up on the formation dances, and more greater line distribution among more of the girls.

No additional thoughts were made.
