I was checking the blogrolls the other day (a good move as Morningtime has changed addresses and has a new home – update your RSS feeds, as Ray would say!) and found via Chiima’s blog that a Berryz Koubou fan tribute project is underway. I debated whether or not to include info on a separate post or include it on the post about M3’s survey and decided on the former. Why? One simple answer: while the signal boosting for the poll itself will begin before the date (Twitter/Facebook’s post will go live on the 25th), most of it is after the deadline (with the blog post itself coming late next month).
Besides, this project doesn’t deserve to be overshadowed by my vanity so here are the details:
Chuu! Sugoi! Idol! is no stranger to idol tributes and hopes to have a grand tribute video to the Berryz that will follow in the same vein. Fans can contribute content via the following methods:
Five dance cover groups will perform dance covers to the following fan-selected Berryz songs:
- Anata Nashi de wa Ikite Yukenai
- Special Generation
- Dakishimete Dakishimete
- Cha Cha Sing
- Futsuu, Idol 10nen Yatterannai Desho!?
- Towa no Uta
So far, as of this writing, three have been announced and it’s unknown if two more have been found. The hope is to have a representative of each continent (the Americas, Australia, and Africa have yet to be represented), but allowances can be made if no representative is found. (There are two Asia representatives, just so you know. Besides, it’s a little difficult to have six continents represented with five slots.)
If you wish to participate in this capacity, stop by the blog’s Facebook page and send the following:
- Sample dance cover video
- Group info (name, country and continent of origin, members)
- Group photo

No Matter What Path You Choose…
Good luck to all of the participants and may this project be successful! I remember the commemorative fanbook project for Sayumi and while it didn’t get to her in time for the concert, the project itself was a success. Let’s make sure this one carries the tradition!
Be sure to spread the word!
